Mercury moves through Pisces one time per year – and has a significant effect on all of us, so get ready to take care of your brain a little more during this time.
If you are a “Mercury ascendant or Moon” (meaning you have Gemini or Virgo ascendant or Moon) – you will be feeling the effects even more.
Mercury is in Pisces March 18 – April 2, 2016 (it’s most vulnerable or weakest place for ‘making sense of details or commerce and money sense’). The planet of commerce, learning, discriminating details and of language is challenged during this time.
On the one hand, Mercury in this place brings immense challenge to tracking details or interest in them, or in keeping an eye on your finances or or handling a lot of technology at a time.
Mercury is called ‘debilitated’ in Pisces in Vedic Astrology, or challenged with Mercury-like things like finance, numbers and technology and commerce. (For instance, Bill Gates has the exact opposite Mercury to where it is now – that opposite Mercury is great for commerce, tech and details. Bill Gates is good with inventions, technology and planned obsolescence eh?)

The good news:

Mercury in Pisces IS GOOD FOR interest in the wonders of the Universe, the big, amorphous beyond, and the magic of life. It gives a childlike appreciation for the magic in life.

Einstein was born with Mercury in Pisces

Einstein was born with Mercury in Pisces

Einstein had his Mercury in Pisces (the opposite of Bill Gate’s Mercury). Remember how Einstein was not as interested in the details of math in his early years? It was his wonder of the Universe which drove him to master mathematics and explain the HUGE concepts of space and time.
Einstein also had Sun, Mercury and Venus in Pisces – which gave him an ability to make use of that Mercury when he really applied himself. That same Venus is coming up on March 31st!
So, there is relief in site starting March 31st – when Venus, Mercury and the Sun are all in Pisces where they were when Einstein was born.

These two planets and the Sun will be in Pisces together for only a few days though, March 31 – April 2nd.
Then, Mercury moves into Aries.  More good news is that Venus in Pisces brings all things Venusian in Vedic Astrology to the forefront – which is great for artists, lovers, beauty and…indulgence alike.  More on that in a future blog entry.
Look for a Chakra Balancing walk through our solar system – when I share with you the Cosmic Rhythm Series and connect the planets and the chakras for you.

Did you know you are an expression of the solar system and of the Universe? That the planets in our solar system are reflected in your energy body?

As I explain, the planets and their connection to the Chakras, I am sharing with you the wisdom of the ancients – and how you can balance and remain in touch with your personal rhythms and nature very simply.

YOUR MERCURY ACTION PLAN:

When we know a time can be challenging on our nervous system, our brain or our capacity to track numbers and such, we can take extra good care of our brain and nervous system by taking whatever supplements or foods help with memory and hand-eye coordination.

Green Tea for health and vitality

Green Tea for health and vitality

Mercury is the planet of GREEN, so no surprise, GREEN TEA and one of its components L- THEANINE is really good for memory and calming the nervous system too.  L-theanine significantly increases alpha brain waves, which means it relaxes the mind without inducing drowsiness.  (Check with your doctor or medical professional before adding any new supplement, disclaimer is asking you to do your own due diligence, use common sense and act responsibly with your health.)

Leafy green salads, cooked greens, seaweed (third party tested for heavy metals) and of course… MEDITATION.
are all fantastic for helping calm the nervous system, so that it does not get frazzled and increases your efficiency.

When Mercury functions well in our lives, we can track details and not get tired, make connections and discriminate and learn easily.
So, to counteract the tendency to have a tired brain during this time (March 18 – April 2, 2016) – take whatever supplements you find are good for your thinking, memory and focus. Everyone’s physiology is a bit different, so for some, calming down helps focus, while others need a little stimulation, like tea or coffee to help them stay on track.
How do you like to keep your mind fresh or keep the child-like wonder of the world? I find my connection with nature and spending time in gardens, or with trees or squishing my feet in the grass help keep the joy and wonder of life fresh.

Share how you keep your connection with the wonders of the world and stay curious about life.  It is one of the best ways to stay young at heart.
